The Registry
Field Atlas

Known relics, roads, settlements, and recovery zones

The apocalypse did not end civilization. It interrupted it. This is the whole record of the world our builds live in, printed as the Registry prints it, and free to anyone who wants it.

To the bearer

Nobody carries the Registry without joining it a little

Whether you bought this book, traded for it, inherited it, or found it on a seat nobody came back for, it is yours now. And now that it is yours, you should know what you agreed to. Your mission has three parts.

01

Travel informed

Read the entry before you take the road. Check the survey date before you trust the bridge. Know the marks of the people you will meet before you decide what their wave means. Every warning in this book was earned by somebody, and the cheapest way to honor them is to arrive prepared.

02

Correct the record

You will find mistakes in these pages, and finding them is not a failure of the book. It is the book working. Roads wash out, wells go bad, towns change their minds, and machines that were dark last spring may be glowing now. When the world and the page disagree, the world is right, so fix the page. Write in pencil, sign your name, and date it.

03

Pass it on

This book is not a possession. It is a relay. When your traveling days end, or when you meet somebody who needs it more, hand it over with your corrections inside. A worn copy full of strangers' handwriting is worth ten clean ones, because a clean copy has only been read, and a worn one has been lived.

One more thing, bearer

Sooner or later you will see the Longlight, a soft green shine coming off something the old world left behind. You are looking at a candle somebody lit on purpose before the dark came down, burning slow so that you, stranger, would still have light. Write down where. Write down when. Carry the report to the next station, the next Keeper, the next archive house, and add what you saw to what we know.

The world broke once because it trusted without checking. You are holding the habit that fixes that. Walk far, write small, and come back with corrections.

Compiler note

Local corrections are not errors. If the town calls a machine Shepherd and the Registry calls it CR-07, write both.
